Visualize a Home Run

This section contains letters written to famous sports figures.  Most of these letters are written to members of the New York Yankees.  I first became a Yankee fan in 1956 when Don Larsen pitched his perfect game.

I am a great believer in visualization.  I believe that one major secret of success is visualizing what you want to bring about.  This can be applied in any area of life, including sports.

Beginning in 1995, I started writing certain members of the Yankees about the benefits of visualization.  In 1995, I wrote to Don Mattingly; after that, it was mainly Paul O'Neill.

I missed 1997 and 1998, but I did write letters in 1999, 2000, and 2001.  I think that these letters are interesting, since they illustrate a technique that can be used by anyone for any project that requires effort.

Most years, I would wait till the Yankees have some kind of "slump" early in the season, then write several letters.  I also write during the playoffs. I tried to encourage the concept "Visualize a Home Run." I did once get a letter back from Paul O'Neill, although he did not acknowledge my letter.  All letters are in PDF format.  Several of the PDFs have multiple letters in.
